What kinds of glue do I use?
Small seeds can be glued on to EZ Seed Tape using a glue stick. Just run a line of glue using the glue stick on the measurement markings. Then merely place the seeds in position and wait for the glue to dry.
Larger seeds can be glued using a dab of water soluble craft paste. This is the same kind of paste children use for art projects. Just place a small amount of paste in the desired position, push the seed into the paste and wait for it to dry.
Flour and water can also be mixed to a paste and used to glue the seeds onto the EZ Seed Tape.
Some gardeners like to use a cooked solution of cornstarch and water. When the solution is cooled, just spoon it into a plastic sandwich bag and snip the corner to make the bag into a "piping bag" like bakers use to decorate cakes. Just squeeze a small amount of paste onto the desired position and then place the seed into the glue. The amount of glue should be about the same size as the seed to assure contact.
How do I store the seed tape after I've glued the seeds?
Once you've glued the seeds on to the EZ Seed Tape be sure to write the name of the seed in the designated place along with your desired planting date. You can also write other planting instructions including depth (i.e. "cover with 1/2" soil) and the growth height.
You can then gently roll the tape and place it in a plastic sandwich bag and then store in a cool dry place. Mark the bag so you can easily see the seed variety.
You can also use a clothing hanger and clip the prepared EZ Seed Tapes to the hanger with laundry clips or larger paper clips.
